My Heart (breaks) First

by Rayno Kivo

To put it frankly, breakups suck. The worst is not knowing when it’s okay to throw yourself a little pity party or when it’s time to muster up the courage and start moving on. It’s difficult to know when is the right time to do either when your brain and heart are at odds, yet somehow, time eventually swoops in and makes the decision for us.

This piece represents the in-between point, where you’re still reveling the heartbreak of a love that once was, but identifying the need to hold your head up high and understand your heart comes first. Reminiscing in a love-now-turned-heartbreak that was beautiful yet destructive, needed yet quickly extinguished, but no matter what — a growing experience nonetheless.
